" As an Australian enjoying a ‘reverse’ gap year in this beautiful part of the UK I was amazed to stumble upon the Sidney Nolan Trust. I’ve been volunteering now for over 6 months and have learned so much more about Sidney. I'm loving the experience, and working with the delightful staff! "   Alison Bird, Volunteer

Volunteering Opportunities

There are always interesting projects happening at The Rodd for which we really need your help. From bringing Rodd Court to life to taking part in our up and coming events; getting involved here can be rewarding and fun.

You do not need any specific experience or qualifications, you just need a willingness to get involved and try something new. Training is provided and we work closely with our volunteers to ensure they enjoy being part of the team. We welcome any time that can be given.

Gallery Steward

As a Gallery Steward, you will be joining a dedicated team who bring the work in our gallery to life. You will help visitors learn about the works of Sidney Nolan and share stories of his life here at The Rodd. As the first place that all our visitors see, we like to make sure they are greeted with a smile and are made to feel welcome. So, if you're a warm and engaging individual then our Gallery Steward team would be the ideal place for you.

Gardening Volunteer

Do you have a passion for gardening? Why not join our gardening team? Currently, our gardens may seem wild and unkempt as we are in the process of creating a vision for what they could look like in the future. Gardening expertise is welcome but not essential. We are looking for any volunteers willing to help us bring this vision to life.

House Guides

If you like entertaining a group or have an interest in architectural heritage, then our house guide team could be for you. As a house guide, you will help ensure visitors appreciate the beauty of Rodd Court and the social history that surrounds it. Full training will be provided by a specialist architectural historian.

Events and activities assistant

Throughout the year we run a learning programme, hosting activities and workshops for local primary schools, families and other groups. Our Events and Activities Assistants help to make these days fun and engaging for all. DBS checks will be required for this role. If you are a positive cheerful person who likes meeting new people this role is for you.

To apply for any of these roles please complete the application form below and email to hollie@sidneynolantrust.org. What are you waiting for!
