Sculpture Programme Talks: Jake Harvey

Venue: Presteigne Assembly Rooms

Thursday 2 February 2012, 19.00

Jake Harvey is Emeritus Professor and former Head of Sculpture at Edinburgh College of Art.
Jake's own carved sculpture predominantly draws inspiration from archaeology and architectural configurations and spaces. In the process of working he subverts the geometry of his carvings with intuitive, as opposed to measured calculation. A key element is the shaping of invading and peripheral space. Retaining the indexical mark and other traces humanises and provides an implied provenance for the work.
He is the lead researcher in STONE project.

Tickets: £5 (students £3). To reserve yours please send an email or phone 01544 260149.

Please note venue for talk is Presteigne Assembly Rooms, not The Rodd.
