Book Arts: Small Artists' Books workshop

A day making the most of 'small'.  We will make small book structures, explore some very small things and pose questions about 'smallness'.

Materials: You will need the usual cutting, sticking and stitching kit (email Lin if you have questions about this). Also drawing paper and pencils or fine pens and interesting card or paper you may want to use. Please also bring magnifiers if you have any (such as magnifying glass, hand lens or even a microscope). We recommend warm clothes and boots in case we venture outside. The Workshop itself takes place in the warmth of the AGA-heated Farmhouse kitchen. Bring a packed lunch; tea and coffee will be provided.

Lin Charlston has been a practising book artist since 2000 when she gained MA Book-Arts with distinction at Camberwell College of Arts. Her artist’s books are represented in public collections including Tate Britain, The National Art Library at V&A, Yale Center for British Art, The Art Institute of Chicago and Collezione Aprile di Cimia in Turin.  Lin teaches book-arts locally at Westhope College and has run workshops at the Sidney Nolan Trust and further afield including Plas Tan y Bwlch in Snowdonia, Tate Britain and a three day course at the V&A in 2010.  Lin was made a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 2006.
