Collaborative Earth Walks
Day #4 Thursday 9th August - with Charlie Kimberley - A Longer Walk.
Charlie works at The Rodd so her relationship with the land is one that encouraged a discussion about home, boundaries and migration. In the morning, we walked beyond and out from the farm towards Offa’s Dyke and Herrick and discovered a shared loved of hedgerows, high open spaces and an interest in the sublime.
Charlie's drawings in response to our walk were on a large scale.
Returning late in the day to the Grain Barn, we began to explore scale in relation to drawing from collected flora. I was still thinking about blackberries and desire, the stories that, informed by myth, had emerged from the previous day’s collaboration with Jonathan – ideas that leaked into the drawings.
