Celia Perceval: Paintings

Join us at the opening of the exhibition for drinks and to meet the artists: Saturday 1st September, 6.30pm-8.30pm.

Our exhibition for h.Art Herefordshire Art Week features Celia Perceval’s paintings of landscapes, largely Australian and Welsh, but other locations as well. Showing alongside are a selection of photographs by Tim Perceval, Celia's son, details HERE.

An intrepid traveller and artist, Celia was born in Australia. She came to London as a child and returned to Canberra as a teenager where she painted in the bushland with her father, John Perceval, and held her first exhibition. She moved to Presteigne with her family in 1974, restoring a stone ruin near Stonewall Hill. She has made many working journeys back to Australia during that time. Her style has developed from staying in the bush landscape all over Australia, having an affinity with wild nature. Her mother Mary Boyd married Sidney Nolan and moved to The Rodd where she and Sidney founded the Trust in 1985.

Celia has worked in Italy, France, Ireland, England, Wales and India. She has exhibited widely including Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Canberra, London, Ireland and Wales and her work is held in many private collections around the world. Celia continues to live and work in Presteigne and considers herself a Welsh-Australian painter.
