Alison Grant & Fiona Sampson - Stone Moon

Stone Moon is a new collaboration between the prize-winning UK poet Fiona Sampson and Edinburgh based printmaker Alison Grant. In the exhibition, Grant responds to seven poems from Sampson’s latest collection Come Down in which she traces her Australian father and his roots in that country, as well as the valley in Herefordshire where she lives and writes.

Grant’s printmaking practice includes mono-print, photogravure and delicate Suminagashi prints. The exhibition includes audio installations of the poet reading and is the first to be presented within the interior of Rodd Court, the former home of Sidney Nolan. Poetry and print were central to Nolan’s practice and the exhibition is one of several new collaborations through which the Trust extends its offer and support of writing and poetry at The Rodd.
