Learning - Our work with Schools
Digital Newsletter - 09/11/23
Throughout September and October, we hosted lots of local schools for creative learning visits in tandem with the exhibition Plant Communitas. The visits encouraged pupils to look closely at the artwork in the exhibition and supported them to develop their vocabulary in looking and thinking about contemporary art.

Working with a companion plant for the day, pupils practiced observational drawing skills and developed imaginative writing about their plants.
They combined their drawings and writing to create fantastic banners, further exploring the use of textiles and natural paints. Thanks to all the schools that we've worked with this autumn.
We are in the process of designing a new creative learning experience that will be offered to schools in 2024. If your class or school is interested in working with us please contact us at learning@sidneynolantrust.org
Forest School
Dosbarth Dwynwen, Presteigne Primary School
We had a brilliant day recently delivering our first forest school session for Presteigne Primary School. We welcomed Dosbarth Dwynwen (Year 1) who made beautiful journey sticks, visited the river, and discovered many plants and animals. They had lunch around the fire, produced amazing art using natural pigments, and ended the day with apples rolled in sugar and cinnamon cooked on the fire, washed down with hot chocolate. Next week we look forward to welcoming Dosbarth Gelert (Year 2/3) for more Forest School fun.
