Kelly - New limited-edition etching (Blue)

The Sidney Nolan Trust is delighted to offer for sale a new limited-edition print of an etching by Sir Sidney Nolan. The plate is one of a small number that Nolan made whilst working at Atelier 17 in 1958, with the influential English printmaker and teacher Stanley William Hayter. The plate was proofed by Nolan but no edition was ever made until now.

The total edition of 70 is being released to coincide with the exhibition Nolan à l’Atelier 17, showing at The Rodd, Sidney Nolan’s former home, during summer 2021.

The print was proofed by Prof. David Ferry RE, using Arthur Boyd’s etching press which is owned by the Trust. The edition has been printed by Peter Bennett, Master Printmaker - Atelier JI, London, using Nolan’s original paper stock. The print is available in both an orange and blue colourway, reflecting the Australian and European influence.
