More information
In partnership with the Wilhelmina Barns-Graham Trust, we are delighted to present an exhibition of the artist’s journey through print.
Wilhelmina Barns-Graham (1912 – 2004) was first and foremost a painter, but created many prints throughout her long career. She experimented with varied methods including etching, linocut, lithography, and screenprinting. There is a close relationship between the prints and her painting in terms of themes, imagery, and technique. The evolving subjects and styles of Barns-Graham’s art trace her move to abstraction within the broader context of British 20th century art.
This retrospective follows Barns-Graham's printmaking from the early 1950s onwards covering wide-range of techniques.
